NOVEMBER CATCH-ALL

Welcome to November. It sucks. Though the decorative options in Foodland suggest it's meant to be just as festive as October was, but how can it possibly be? The sky is dreary and grey anytime it isn't raining icy droplets down the collar of your shirt. The brisk chill in the air makes it downright unpleasant to go outside, and washing one's clothes in the frigid lake is suddenly far less appealing than marching your happy ass to the newly-discovered laundromat in town. (Or you could boil water for washing, I suppose, if you want to be ✨practical✨ about it.)

But otherwise, aside from a brief foray into that which can barely be described (let alone explained) and the conciliatory feast which follows, the month is as uneventful as it is dreary. Just... look out for the town strays, alright? They're a bit testy.

[ Gilia is always a proper woman, to that end. Even if the manners are off, the bearing different, she is determined to be as pleasant as possible, striding into the house to join him. Her skirts trailing on the floor behind her, her hand held delicately in front of her. Slow steps that pause as she turns back to look at him, bowing her head in greeting. ]

You are so kind, I know I shall enjoy it very much.

[ Passing by a small end table, she might catch sight of charcoal sketches of some sort of lizard-like creature. Of his own making, or from home? Since he is a self-proclaimed alien, the latter is likely a possibility. Before she can pay it too much mind though, he's speaking again: ]

I do hope so. It's been a while since I've had the chance to entertain. While life here isn't exactly conducive to it, well-! Perhaps I've just been a bit homesick.

[ Enough about him though. ]

I can take your coat, if you'd like.

[ She gently begins to undo her coat, and she has only the one dress for a fine occasion, the one she had made for the costumed gathering, a deep red that she wears under her cloak, and is, in turn, revealed when she sheds it. ]

I find myself as well. I am not used to eating alone, you see?

Ah, I am but... I think here loneliness settles in ways it didn't before. At home, I had an entire planet to look upon. Here? I'm lucky if there's any kind of activity outside.

It's been an adjustment, for sure. But what was your situation like, if you don't mind me asking-? I'd like to know more about the people here and their homes. The multiverse is such a fascinating concept.

[ He is saying a lot of words, as usual, she does not wholly understand. But is par for the course of most people in her life.

But his question is a pleasant one, smiling at him as she settles herself in the room. ]

That would be tricky to begin, but I suppose the simplest path to understanding it is that I am Queen, and that means that there are always people about me, in one form or another.

Ah, forgive me if I haven't been addressing you formally enough- I haven't dealt with royals in a while now. That does make sense though.

What was your court like?

Small, compared to others. My people are isolated, and our population is not a large one. Hard-working, too, the land is an unforgiving one and requires constant work to flourish. It has led to... a certain kind of people, my people.
